Borden Mine Connection
The Borden Mine is the world’s first all-electric underground gold mine. Upgrades at the Chapleau distribution station were required to meet the increased electrical demand of the mine. This included installing a new feeder, improving protection systems, and upgrading the transformer.
Responsibilities unique to this project:
Accountable for specialized reporting and planning guidelines requested by the customer (Goldcorp).
Submitted a request for proposal (RFP) for engineering consultation services and collaborated with the engineering department to compare bids and finalize technical requirements.
Submitted an initial Class C estimate to the customer for approval.
Coordinated with the local distribution company for scheduling work and outages.
