The device is a dynamic stickhandling training tool capable of tracking a puck and autonomously sweeping and poking the puck away from the skater. The defensive measures employed by the device assist players with more advanced stickhandling techniques such as anticipation, reaction, and timing.

  • Programmed and calibrated the PID controller used to track and steal the puck away from skaters.

  • Consulted with over 50 hockey players and coaches, including ex-NHL players and ex-WHL players.

  • Engineered the pneumatic design by sizing components based on stakeholder needs.

  • Awarded Best 3rd-Year Capstone. Link to design presentation.
